I think the most bizarre house rule I ever encountered was a friend of mine having a family so Catholic that we couldn’t watch any “offensive” movies when a statue of the Virgin Mary was out on a shelf nearby which is how I saw Return to Oz for the first time.
As strange as that story sounds, it’s not even half as strange as many house rules that follow:
