Professional proofreaders and editors are far more important to modern publishing than most folks realize. Pick your favorite living author right now, and I guarantee that if you dig deep enough into their process, they’ll eventually thank their editor or talk about how important their editor is.
But editors are not exclusive to just a single author, and often have to work with many MANY clients to earn their keep. Enter this proofreader/editor, who had the unfortunate luck of running into a particularly annoying client (and the satisfaction of getting simple revenge on him).
