With the advent of call display and phones that are practically mini-computers, the chance you’re gonna get a prank phone call or a creepy breather are almost nil nowadays. Once upon a time, however, the phone was one of the scariest tools in the house.
Pretty much every horror film since the 60’s up until the mid 2000’s would have some scene about a killer taunting a babysitter, and it’s coming from her own phone in the same house over an indian graveyard or something like that, and it was scare. Reality, though, is pretty scary too.
Case in point: Someone jumped onto Quora asking the users “What is the creepiest phone call or voice message you’ve ever received?” The answers are a little fucked up.
