McKamey Manor toes the line between horror and haunted house
Welcome to Summertown, Tennessee. Home to what some have called the ‘world’s most extreme haunt.’ The infamous McKamey Manor sits on a plot of land just a bit north of the Alabama border. Let’s be clear, this isn’t your ordinary haunted attraction. Good news? There is a $20,000 prize for anybody who makes it through the 10-hour ordeal – although according to the Mckamey Manor website, this year’s Descent experience is around 6+ hours. Bad news? Nobody has ever won.
Don’t get ahead of yourself if you’re already planning that road trip to good ‘ole Tennessee. Here are the requirements for being considered as a contestant in the immersive horror experience.
-You must be 21 or older, or 18-20 with parents approval.
-Must complete a “Sports Physical”
-Be mentally and physically cleared with a doctor’s note
-Must pass a background check provided by McKamey Manor.
-Have an online video screening via FaceTime or on Facebook.
-Proof of medical insurance.
-Must sign a detailed 40-page waiver.
-Must pass a portable drug test on the day of your visit
