Move over Hubble – there’s a new telescope in town!
Well, to be fair, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope isn’t located anywhere near a town…
Unlike the Hubble Space Telescope, which orbits around our planet, the James Webb Space Telescope orbits the Sun 1 million miles from the Earth.
The largest telescope in space, Webb conducts infrared astronomy that can detect objects up to 100 times fainter than Hubble is able, as well as objects much earlier in the history of the universe.
Since its launch in 2021, the Webb Space Telescope has captured some of the most breathtaking, high-resolution images of our universe we’ve ever seen.
