There’s something weirdly captivating about places the world has left behind.
This one ^ reminds me of the Werner Herzog film Fitzcarraldo – about man determined to bring an opera house into the jungle (which the film crew tried to replicate- it’s a wild tale, both on and off the screen) … I digress.
The Twitter account Urbanexplorerrs has built a following by diving headfirst into that feeling- sharing haunting, beautiful snapshots of abandoned buildings, forgotten towns, and spaces where time just… stopped.
Scroll on and take a look inside the world we forgot… or maybe the one that never really left.
Lots of these feel eerily apocalyptic and dare I say… foreshadowing…
