There’s something weirdly, shockingly, beautiful and violent about lightning striking a tree.
It’s very loud, unpredictable, and over in a fraction of a second– but somehow, it creates these frozen moments that look almost artistic. Branches lit up like veins, skies cracking open, entire landscapes paused mid-chaos.
I came across a post on hidden.ny on Instagram and they talked about the reason why lightning hits trees so often and this image stuck with me, I had to dig for more.
