John and I spend a good amount of time dishing out ill-informed relationship advice on the podcast with the best case being that we get something right once in a blue moon. If you throw 1000 darts at a board you’re bound to hit the bullseye sooner or later, right? So as inept as we are, we desperately needed a female perspective to help clue us in to a mindset as far away from ours as possible. But beyond discussing how to maintain a healthy relationship, we spoke specifically to the girls of theChive office who we knew had a fine grasp of what it is to be stuck in a dysfunctional relationship.
Our conversation took us to fascinating places that anybody trying to better understand the great divide between sexes could learn from. Trainwreck relationship stories were told, insightful revelations were shared, and a few common themes emerged from the lively banter that I would advise anybody to take to heart. John and I held nothing back when talking to Taylor Wood, Carman Dickman, and Jennifer McCall, and believe me when I say their answers were nothing short of eye-opening. And where we ended up I’ll take as the gospel truth for the rest of my days.
