Whether it’s during some TV binge in the afternoon or a late-night channel-surfing session, we’ve all been face-to-face with bewildering commercials for products beyond human understanding. Maybe the problem the product is trying to solve is real, but most of these products might as well be snake oil for how effective it can be at solving that real problem.
Speaking of, with the new David Spade-hosted gameshow Snake Oil, on Wednesdays at 9pm CST on Fox, we decided to ask Chivers on Instagram and Discord about the wildest “As Seen on TV” products they can recall. In case you’re not aware, Snake Oil challenges contestants to try and tell apart real products from fake ones, as pitched by entrepreneurs. Frankly, it’s difficult to tell apart the real products from the fake ones due to how ridiculous we all know real ones can be.
The selection we have here is quite the menagerie, and I’ve decided to add some context to what exactly each of these are as we go along.
