Break out the Cracker Jacks, gang.
Baseball season is so back.
And while I was watching a bit of hockey the other day, an announcer was going on about how hockey players have the best nicknames in sports.
And it didn’t fly with me.
Because to me, hockey nicknames are too formulaic.
It’s just shortening their last name and adding a “y” or “er” to it.
Like Burns becomes “Burnsy.”
Sure, there are some outliers (“The Great One”, “The Rocket”), but I think overall? Baseball nicknames are the best.
And sure, I’m biased. But I don’t care. I’ll die on this hill.
Here are some top-tier MLB nicknames that will live on forever.
Happy Opening Day!
(World Series Prediction: Cubs over Mariners in 6, you heard it here first.)
