With all that’s going on in our country right now, it’s stories like these that remind us how little our differences matter. Sometimes it just takes a greater cause for people to realize that.
In this case, the cause was fighting for our nation’s freedom on the front lines in Iraq. Mexican-American soldier Israel Parra shared a story on Facebook about a man he served with who opened up about his racism and how his time in the Army changed his perspective completely.
It’s an inspiring and uplifting reminder of our capability to come together and have each other’s backs, regardless of our backgrounds or preexisting beliefs.
