Let me start off by saying, I’m not opposed to pickleball.
I love sports, spending time outside, and smashing the shit out of balls with a racket, bat, or stick.
But did I miss the widespread emergence of pickleball? Was a memo sent by a commissioner that everyone has to play this sport?
Is there a professional pickleball league I don’t know about?
Is there the Tom Brady of pickleball that I am unaware of?
I’m only asking because I live across a tennis (and now, pickleball) court. And from legitimately 7 am to nightfall, every single day, people are playing pickleball.
Again, power to you, have at it.
But I was unaware that this new sport (that I had never heard about until two summers ago) is so immensely popular.
Am I the only one?
Or have I actually been living under a rock?
Because once something gets the meme treatment, you know it’s popular.
