i'm rooting for this guy… he's seem kind and like he has a gentle soul
Except for those people he raped & murdered. Oh and a couple of houses he burglarized. Also, heroin addiction.
Is it wrong that I assume homeless people of any size, shape, color, and sex are people who messed up so bad that there's no turning back?

Therapy? I hear it's not all that helpful and ends up going down the anti-depressant or anti-psychotic medication route.
Considering that you are clearly a pessimist, I do not believe therapy will help. You will end questioning the therapist credibility.
You needs some a bit more drastic, like a hobo rape orgy.
