arent movies supposed to be enjoyed and not picked apart?

    • oughtnot

There are people out there that absolutley LIVE for this kind of thing. It makes me wonder if they can enjoy the show or if they spend their time trying to catch errors like this.

      • Wilson

Yeah I love finding mistakes. It's fun, and i still enjoy watching films. I usually catch mistakes the second time watching something anyway, because I'm not paying as much attention to the dialog and such.

Philosophers Stone? mistake within a mistake. Mistaception

    • usma

philosophers stone was the original title of the book.. the title was changed in the U.S. because it's editors thought that it would attract more interest

    • Guest

The original title of Rowlng’s first book was Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was only published in England. When Scholastic picked up the U.S. publishing rights, it changed the title because they didn’t think U. S. kids would want to read a book with “philosopher” in the title. In the U.K, this book/movie still has Philosopher's Stone in the title.

  • Honk

Different regions had different titles. Apparently some idiots felt "Sorcerer" was too closely tied to themes of witchcraft…..I shit you not 🙂

    • Buster

the original first book was "Philosopher's Stone" in England. When Scholastic purchased the publishing rights they switched the name to "Sorcerer's Stone" and printed it in the US under the new name. Not sure about the movie titles though.

Well, it's not unusual to see people suddenly switching sides, stuff disappearing and reappearing, and things moving in a school for wizards.

All I know, is Emma's boobs get bigger with each passing movie…………

    #6 Well, he's a wizzard, isn't he?

    • black27696

He learned to apparate within minutes of being sorted, but didn't want to show off

    • vegeta

I think he wanted to sit next to the cute girl. not the dude.

  • Fawx

Wrong its Philosopher's stone everywhere par the USA. No idea why it was marketed under a different name in the USA, but it was.

    • maxis

they didn't think philosopher had a "magical" meaning in US, which it doesn't. so they changed it to sorcerer

  • Ben

It was changed from Philosophers Stone in Britain, to Sorcerers Stone in the US, Philosopher in the UK is a Sorcerer in the US. Or something like that. I read it online, has to be true!

    • Shortie

I read something similar. Apparently young Americans would have been “lost” and “confussed” reading the book had they used philos. instead of sorc. I’m pretty sure they could have kept up but guess the publishers thought not.

    • Da Sandman

yes, because everything you read on the internet is true… moron -_- and philosopher doesn't mean sorcerer in in the UK, philosopher means philosopher…

  • Factcheck

Um, here in the US it was released under that name. Overseas however, the other title was used.

  • SlimtwigMJ

Check out all the fucks I give!

  • Hermie

dude, do these movie mistake finders need something to do? i have a ton of laundry that needs to be done. after that, they can pick at the wart that is on my big toe (hopefully it pops on them, cause they deserve it for being movie mistake finders).

You missed a BIG one. In Chamber of Secrets, when Harry and Ron are escaping from Aragog in the Dursley car, theres a moment where the camera pans on the forest revealing many incoming spiders. Among the spiders are clearly visible set lights.
