Random Acts of Kindness: A Callout to the Chivers – REMINDER

We here at theCHIVE are firm believers in helping those around you, and sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. So for the next week, we encourage you to go out and perform a random act of kindness for someone. However big or small, get creative and make somebody’s day a little brighter.

Snap a quick photo of your random act of kindness and submit it to our handy dandy submit page here or thechivesubmit [at] gmail [dot] com, and show the world how awesome Chivers and Chivettes are!

For a little inspiration.

If you're performing a "random act of kindness" in order to take a picture of yourself doing it, it's no longer a random act of kindness, it's a self-serving.

  2. SoCalRaven says:

Two weeks ago, in pouring Southern California rain, I stopped to help a young Hispanic couple change their tire on their van. I was in full "Class A" uniform (911 dispatcher) and had just gotten off a 12 hour graveyard shift.

They tried to pay me, I told them I was there to help, not to be paid.

  10. Retired Navy says:

I was in the Navy for 25 years. When I became the boss of a division I had information on my sailors birthdays, their kids and spouses birthdays, wedding anniversaries and such. At morning muster I would ask the person "why are you here? Isn't this a special day for you or one of your family?" I would then tell that person to take the day off and enjoy it with their family. Of course this was only when we were in homeport. This simple act made the whole division pull together knowing their cared and when the crap hit the fan and we had to work late no one complained.

  11. AV Club says:
