Very disappointed that you'd post a thread like this Chive, especially as the families in Newtown just finished burying their children, and the Aurora theater shooting trial gets underway. Why are you glorifying homicidal thoughts? What are you trying to accomplish here? WTF?

I'm sure anyone visiting here who lost someone on the Aurora theater shooting will be happy to see you lead this awful thread off with the Joker talking about how it's better to use knives instead of guns so you can really feel the emotions of someone who he just killed.

Please don't post this kind of shit again. And don't pretend that a post with cute animals or some charity effort will somehow make up for this absolutely unnecessary, reprehensible and shameful post.

Not saying that, I rarely visit the cute puppy threads anyway. But while the Chive works to foster this charitable, orphaned-dog-rescuing, stand-up-for-good-stuff image, why turn around and post this kind of garbage? Are there so few photos of hot chicks left in the world that this is the best they can do?

For example, after the Aurora shootings the Chive ran some photos of surviving shooting victims giving the thumbs up from their hospital beds and talked about some of the heroics from inside the theater. So they're sympathetic to both the victims and a few months later turn around and run a post which glorifies the mentality that likely contributed to those shootings? And led the thread with a photo of the Joker? Seriously? Unbelievably callous and almost schizophrenic on the Chive part. I'd be very curious to hear from those shooting victims about this thread.

Personally I'm just a little tired of how much we glorify murder and violence and use it for entertainment. The more recently you've been impacted by violence, the more questions you'd have about why the Chive would even consider running this post, which in my mind raises the question about the point of developing the 'We're really good guys' image. Looks like it's really to selling ads and shirts.

and by the way I fully support the Chive's ability to post whatever the hell they want to post and still enjoy 98% of the stuff they run, and if I don't like a post I just won't visit it. This thread, though, made me question their attempt to develop an identity that seems to be contradictory to that image
