In Lapland Sweden there is an orchestra that embraces their arctic ancestry by creating music with something we’ve never seen before: ice. Their “ice-struments” are all custom made and are capable of making absolutely beautiful music. The Ice Music orchestra plays in a giant “cosmic igloo,” that glows and pulsates along with the music.
Because of the icy performance hall, guests are encouraged to dress warmly and in layers.
Each instrument is custom carved for the performances.
Violins, violas, cellos, contrabass, banjos, mandolins, guitars, drum kits and xylophones are all created by sculptor Tim Linhart.
