Imagine being told by a team of doctors that your daughter will be confined to a bed for the rest of her life – not even a hope for a wheelchair, oh, she’ll also never speak a word.
Caroline was diagnosed with Cri du chat syndrome, a genetic disorder so rare, the last book published on the disorder was inked in 1979.
Caroline’s frame, fragile as it is, didn’t seem to agree with the limitations of her grim diagnosis. Her first word was “Mama” and she’s determined as ever to walk. A $30,000 grant from Chive Charities for valuable walking equipment and speech therapy will help Caroline continue to defy all the odds. We have every faith in her.
The original story, posted on theCHIVE Thursday, has made news everywhere. If you have not read Caroline’s heartwarming story, here you go!
