First motion picture to contain CGI fur
Ask any animator, and they’ll tell you that fur and hair and some of the hardest things to animate, especially in CGI. While recently, we’ve been impressed with what Pixar’s been up to, it’s actually a pretty bad film from 1994 that was the first to try it.
I think most people just barely made it through this film, but it did set an impressive milestone 20 years ago, when they rendered the family’s pet Baby Puss, with CGI.
Today, the effects look pretty bad, but it was one hell of an achievement when it came out.
