Next week theCHIVE will touch down in Honolulu with 14 WWII Veterans, many of them returning to their old battleground for the very first time.
The morning of December 7th we will join the Commemoration Ceremony to remember those who gave their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Prior to that, on December 5th we will be bringing those veterans to Hilton Hawaiian Village for one very special evening where both our active service members and civilians will get to meet our Greatest Generation.
Tickets are available RIGHT HERE.
The meetup will go from 6-9pm and it's open to everybody, not just our soldiers and sailors. The event space is huge so we're going to keep the tickets available as long as possible.
See you soon, Hawaii

The KCCO Gold Rush is coming soon. The highly anticipated KCCO Gold is launching nationwide in December. To celebrate we're throwing 3 parties back-to-back-to-back on the same day in Austin, TX.
Saturday, December 13th, we're inviting you to join us at Little Woodrows, 219 West, and The Ranch for what promises to be one of the most irresponsible single days we've ever had (which is saying a lot). We'll be parking our airstream out in front of the bars, giving away free swag, watching football, and raffling off a huge treasure chest full of KCCO Beer Gear. It's 4 O'clock somewhere so you know what time it's kicking off.
The run down of the day's activities is below. There's also a Berry Brunch on Sunday!
There's no charge, just show up with your drinking shoes on.
Find KCCO Gold Nearest you using our Beer Locator!
Follow Resignation Brewery on Twitter for all the inside details on KCCO Gold!
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of one of the most iconic comedies ever made, Ghostbusters.
Patty and I had an idea that we should invite a bunch of disorderly Chivers and Chivettes for special screening of Ghostbuster at the Alamo for our soldiers and sailors.
This is coming together last minute so here's what I got so far:
Email us at email@example.com and let us know your name, age, and if you need a +1. Please put "Ghostbusters" in the subject line. You must be 21+ Confirmations go out tomorrow morning.
We'll pick the names at random. You must receive an email confirming your tickets, which will include the time of the screening (around 10pm). You must also be an active service member or veteran to qualify. I'm not checking military ID's or nuthin' so we're on the internet honor system here.
It looks like Alamo is going to have some kegs of KCCO Black and we'll try and get everybody a couple free beers for the screening.
Also, the first 20 people in line will receive a Bill Fucking Murray - Maybe the first 30. We honestly don't print many of them so I'll see what I can get my hands on without pissing off Justina.
Most importantly, let's have some fun tomorrow. we could all use use a break right now. Kick back, relax, and enjoy this great film.
I'm not sneaking any of those small airline bottles of Jack Daniel's into the screening. <----- See you tomorrow!

So it’s getting late here and I’m going through theCHIVE submission box. Whenever we launch The Originals, there’s always an uptick of emails from Chivers who wanted to RAK their friends in the Armed Forces an Original but didn't get to their computers in time or simply can't afford it. Many of those soldiers and sailors are in a whole other time zone themselves with no fixed address.
So let's do something about this. I’m going to RAK a healthy number of KCCO’s and BFM’s to our service men and women - like, a really healthy number (my accountant called me “a financially irresponsible boy scout. I like it.”. It was a real moment.
If you know an active service member or veteran, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org on his/her behalf and we’ll email you a backlink to the free ‘Originals’. Feel free to include their story. We are assuming all costs except for shipping. You must receive an email back confirming the order. If you don’t know the RAK recipient's address, send the package to yourself and please be sure you get it to them. This is the internet honor system. It's flawless!
We’ve done this before with the Military KCCO’s but this is a whole other enchilada, I have no idea what’s about to happen so please understand we do have a sorta' limited amount of shirts to give away and I'm half drunk at the moment. I'll update this page when the shirts are gone.
RAK away. I'm sure your friends will more than appreciate it. It's the small things after all...

UPDATE: Thanks so much for all the heart warming emails. I gotta' close this awesome little science experiment down now. If you're one of the service men or women who gets a package, you've got some good friends out there looking after you.

As #RAKit weeks gives way to #RAKit weekend, all signs point to the fact that you’ll be spending a little bit of time in the bar (I know I will). Buying a drink for someone is an easy gesture, but one of the most satisfying RAKs you can make. So in the spirit of the giving this week, we are calling our Chivers to pony up for someone at the bar. Be it a beer, a cocktail, or a shot, just put it on your tab for a friend, or a deserving stranger.
As you can tell by the posts this week, we love to hear stories about #RAKit week in action, so if you feel so inclined, let us know about it. Post your RAK on Twitter or Instagram tagged with #RAKit or you can just submit it straight to us right here.
Now go out there this weekend and make someone’s night (or day, we don’t judge).
I know it's late but we're going hard this week so there will be a lot of posts beyond the regular hours.
It's #RAKit week so we're literally RAK'ing racks (of ribs) tomorrow.
Many of you remember Seth Ringley and Blake Giles. The BBQ gurus who created Triple G Relief dropped everything and to spend two months helping to feed victims of the F5 tornado that ripped through Oklahoma City last year.
Tomorrow we're joining forces once again with the Triple G Relief boys for a special happening outside the new Chive HQ and we're inviting all of you to join us for a free BBQ lunch at theCHIVE. There will also be some very worthy charities there we'd like you to meet:
Operation Blue Santa will be there as well as Austin Pets Alive! and all we ask is you give a small donation to help make Christmas a special time for underprivileged kids and maybe help get some cats and dogs some much-needed food.
Austin Pets Alive! is burning thru almost 6,000 lbs. of dog and cat food every month to sustain all the animals at this no-kill shelter. They could use our help and something tells me there will be a big check from us here at theCHIVE waiting for you when you get here tomorrow :)
Operation Blue Santa was the recipient of a $50,000 grant from Chive Charities last year and they are ramping up efforts to go even bigger this Christmas after the Chivers helped Blue Santa bring Christmas to over 4,000 families last year. I mean, it's Half Christmas after all.
Most importantly - if you don't have $5 to donate, don't sweat it, just come by and experience some great BBQ and meet theCHIVE crew. The BBQ will be in the cul-de-sac next to theCHIVE HQ. Look for the firetrucks and Mac trying to adopt all the cats.
You are all welcome here,
John n' Leo
