    Most of us have had people close to us battle cancer, I lost my (favorite) aunt to the disease. Let's put a massive smile on Lindsay's face today, Chivers. I'll keep everybody posted to the progress. Great, now go get in there and Like that page like a buncha' of bulls in a china shop.

          Not to be a downer, but there are other contestants who have it worse. One has MS, another is raising a child with neuroblastoma cancer. Anther has four incurable auto-immune disorders!

          I appreciate the love being shown, but too skew a contest like this is shady. Perhaps one of the others couples should be posting their story on 4chan. Just saying…

            It's called taking initiative. You won't get anywhere in the world without it. Sure sometimes you can sit back, take a passive stance, and hope to get lucky. Chances are it won't work out so well no matter how noble your cause. This is the world and how it works there's your "reality" check. If you really want to help somebody else because you feel they deserve it more get off your ass and do something about it.

        Hi, my name is Jacob Mann and I am writing to win this wedding, because I made a promise to the love of my life Jessica that I would give her the wedding that she dreamed of and deserved. We got married September 2009 right before I deployed to Iraq for the 2nd time. The court wedding was not what we wanted, because we did not have very much saved up and we were going through a difficult time dealing with the US Army. Almost everything went wrong. This year will be my third deployment, but this time to Afghanistan. Upon my return from this deployment I would love for my wife to have the wedding she always dreamed of. She is currently pregnant with our first child and once again I can’t be there for her, which breaks my heart. If I could give her this gift, I know it would mean the world to her. I love my wife so very much and would do anything for her. I can’t do anything about the deployments, but I can try to make up for it by making her happy. She has always supported me unconditionally, always has my back, makes me smile, puts up with my PTSD and made me a better person. I could write more but I only have 250 words. Now that she fulfills my biggest wish – our child – I’d like to finally be able to give something back. Thank you for your time.

        It's a tough call, but I think I'm with the Chivers on this one.

          I'm also with the Chivers but sad at the same time that the men and women that do more in a half day than most of us do in a week keeping this country of ours safe cant pay for a wedding while there are 1000's of business execs that fart around all day and make 200k a year…shit is backwards is all im sayin

        Ya i was thinking the same, and after seeing it was also someone who had it hard i considered them both, and I have to say, the underdog (Lindsay, the chivette) had it harder and is still currently only engaged while the other will have a second marriage. I'm sorry but I still think we need to vote for Lindsay.

        Hes military, as am i. Yes we go away for a long time, its really not that bad and i personally find its a bit over played. They don't have huge medical bills, they aren't sick, he just promised her a "dream wedding" so? what's your point? how many guys promise that. Just cause hes military, does not mean they should win. i feel kinnda embarrassed when i see stories where perfectly healthy happy and stable soldiers get treated better then people in medical or financial trouble. We get paid pretty good despite what everyone says. And for future reference, you don't need a tone of money to make a girls dream wedding come true. be creative! Chive on.

          I am, or was in the Army for 12 years (got out Sept this year) and I agree with you. While I like their story and 3 deployments is hard, Lindsay has it much harder.

          Yea, I did 8 years in the Marines and I saw this story all the time. Especially if you sign up for the armed forces now. You know what your getting into. My wife and I had a courthouse wedding as well. I did my time. I got out, got a good job, and then gave her the wedding she deserved.

          If you do get sick, the military covers it. Not in Lindsay's case though. The damn insurance companies tried to stick me with a 12k hospital bill last year for a MRI and brain scan my wife got. If I had still been in the military it would of been free. Fought those damn bastards for a year though to get it knocked down to 1,400. Anyways the point is do your service and don't victimize yourself. You and thousands of other have been through it and it's your duty.

      Lost one of my favorite Aunts to the disease as well three years ago. To make matters worse her now 6-yr old daughter frequently asks where her mother is.

      I personally don't like Facebook, nor have a page but one will be created in order for me to help Lindsay for sure.

      They are not the only contestants with cancer. There is even one poor lady who has four incurable auto-immune disorders. Lindsay's story is touching, but she has it better than a couple other couples. One chap has MS!

            ya but see they all have only gotten about 100 (no more than 150) in the past 2 hours. and the only one close is the one in second was in first place before so it's still the same couple that we beat about an hour ago. the second place has gotten a little less than 150 in 2 hours, so although yes they would have won if we weren't here but they are the only ones we made a difference for.

                oh don't worry i went and read the stories as well, and i voted for multiple people seeing as it let me like multiple couples. i still agree that they likely won't overtake Lindsay, but hey if we vote for others too it makes them feel a little better as well. i do agree with guesty though on that it disappointed me at how many people were badmouthing the other couples…

      I'm just finishing my treatment (chemo/radiation) for stage 4, non Hodgkin's lymphoma. It's been a bumpy road, but one thing I have learned along the way is smiling and being positive will carry you through so much, and at the end of the day, you become a better person.
      I've liked their page, I wish them the best 🙂

        I agree. I wanted to help Nick and Lindsay but there is no reason to be mean to the other people. And to everyone who is saying this is bad, I'm sure all the couples asked their friends to help like and all that, they might have even used other networks. If you don't agree they should win you can always vote for who you think should win. However, it is totally rude and uncool to say hurtful things to the other couples who will definitely be crushed that they lost. None of them were bad people saying rude things to win. Nick and Lindsay just used a different support system that happens to have tons and tons of followers.

        I think we should still wish the other contestants well and hope they are able to have dream weddings. It is possible to do it on a low budget.
