Word just leaked that my boy, the legend, Peyton Manning will officially be retiring from the NFL today. Holding back tears…be strong. The news broke by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, who confirmed that Manning will make the announcement today in Denver. Those who know me well understand that as a kid who grew up in Indiana, Peyton Manning wasn’t just a Quarterback, he was Elvis, man. The amount of gratitude I have for Peyton and the incredible years he gifted me, my family, and all people from the great Hoosier state is something I will never forget.
But I’m not alone in congratulating Peyton on his legendary career. The NFL and beyond have started to react to the news via Twitter in a beautiful way.
