On Saturday night in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Carolina Hurricanes were forced to turn to emergency backup David Ayres after losing both their goalies to injuries.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, you might remember beer league hero Scott Foster who strapped up the pads for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018. As awesome as that was, what happened this weekend was truly something special, and a bit strange too.
