For those '80s babies like myself, you'll remember a time when VHS tapes were king and nothing was more powerful than those iconic movie covers that lined the shelves at your local video rental store. Yes, I'm getting old. But one fan of the old VHS covers cleverly decided to take movies from present day and give them the nostalgic look from our youth.

You know those movies that are bad, but you can’t help but watch them and love every minute of it? They’re cheesy, they’re completely unrealistic and sometimes you have no idea what the writers were smoking when they created them. But you still fucking love them. Good news for you… that makes you smart. According to “The Independent,” “so bad it’s good” enjoyment was researched by academics for the first time, and was published in the journal “Poetics” this week. Here’s what they had to say:

“We are dealing here with an audience with above-average education, which one could describe as ‘cultural omnivores’. Such viewers are interested in a broad spectrum of art and media across the traditional boundaries of high and popular culture.”

Together with Columbia Pictures, theCHIVE is getting in on the official world premiere event for the hilarious R-rated comedy, Sausage Party, on August 9th at the Bruin Theater in Los Angeles.
