Vintage Vixen, Janet Leigh, is the most iconic scream queen in cinema history.
The mother of Jamie Lee Curtis (with Hollywood heavyweight, Tony Curtis – her third husband of four) is best known for playing Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock’s critically acclaimed horror film, Psycho (1960). The role earned her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress as well as an Academy Award nomination.
The role also gave her a phobia of showers.
In an interview with Ed Gross for Woman’s World Leigh said, “I stopped taking showers, and I only take baths. And when I’m someplace where I can only take a bath, I make sure the doors and windows of the house are locked.”
Janet Leigh had a successful career on the silver screen for over five decades, starring as a leading lady and later appearing alongside her daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, in John Carpenter’s The Fog (1980) and Halloween H20 (1998).
