New “Lord of the Rings” TV series confirmed for five seasons

Last year, Amazon, HBO, and Netflix were battling over who would get to produce a “Lord of the Rings” series for the small screen. Eventually Amazon won, with a whopping $250 million deal.
And, it has now been confirmed by Amazon that there will be a guaranteed five seasons, each likely to follow a different storyline. The series was also given a casual budget of $1 billion, making it the most expensive television show ever produced.
