We sat down with a fan favorite, the lovely Poppy – you know her on the site as Diet_Marshmallow. From LEGO to cosplay and everything in between, enjoy our interview with one of the OG Chivettes.
Zach: Thank you for joining us. How’s it going?
Poppy: I’m doing great!
Zach: So right off the bat, we have to know where did the name Diet Marshmallow come from?
Poppy: I actually get asked that a lot and there’s not a good answer. I was just kind of thinking of names that would be good across all platforms. I wanted something that I thought wouldn’t be taken. So I had been drinking a little bit and I was just laying on my couch staring at the ceiling. I started out making exclusively foot content, and I kind of thought marshmallows looked like toes. And that’s really it. It’s not anything super significant.
I was just like, “I bet you nobody else will have this.” Turns out they totally did. It was taken immediately on Reddit and it’s taken on YouTube as well by like a 15-year-old kid.
