Chive Charities is a nonprofit organization specializing in “orphan causes” — disorders so rare that there are no existing charities to provide aid to the victims. Audrina’s plight fit the bill to a tee.
They launched a campaign and Chivers raised $57,000 to buy Audrina and her family a brand new wheelchair-accessible van as well as a larger, wheelchair-friendly front door. This was a tremendous relief to the Petersons, as getting her in and out of the old family vehicle for her myriad doctor’s visits had become a constant chore.
