Last Friday we posted a photo of Joshua after he arrived at theCHIVE to keep our side of a bargain I make with all Chivers: You beat cancer, we give you beer and cake. Specifically from my Instagram:
“Little known facts about theCHIVE – I make a deal with every Chiver battling cancer, if you beat cancer’s ass you can come to theCHIVE office whenever you like and we will drop everything, serve you beer and cake, and raise a glass with you. Congrats, Joshua, a 2x survivor.”
For years, we’ve invited Chivers to the office who have beat their cancer. When they arrive, our office stops ‘working’ and we give the survivor beer and cake. The cake usually has something irreverent toward cancer written on it, as well it should.
