Entrepreneurs and researchers have bioengineered an eye implant that can restore sight for the blind or visually impaired, according to an article on Good News Network.
The bioengineered cornea implant is “made of collagen protein from pig’s skin, which resembles the human cornea.” So far, it has restored vision for 20 people.
A cornea “is the outermost transparent layer of the eye.”
