This past Saturday, members of Chive on Chicago and Bloomington Chive descended upon the city of Ottawa IL, with items for the victims of the Naplate-Ottawa Tornado that touched down on February 28th, 2017.
They were able to pack 4 SUVs, 1 truck and 1 car full of food, water, Gatorade and a plethora of cleaning supplies. All the items were donated by members as well as using the proceeds from the “Soda-Pop-Coke” contest at Chiverish that many of those in Chive Nation donated to.
The organizers of the relief effort were astounded that all the items were donated by a group of individuals. They’re used to seeing that volume from businesses, but rarely from an organization such as ours. They repeated many times just how much all this will help those affected and have their thanks over and over. This is another example how those in Chive Nation are impacting their communities, one act of kindness at a time. Thank you Chive Nation for your help and support in doing this!
