It’s so easy to get dragged down by negativity these days. The pervasive culture of “oh poor me” and gaslighting of the masses by most major news outlets makes hiding in a bunker in the mountains extremely appealing. I dropped Facebook from my phone specifically because of the negative bullshit, but it’s persistent and ever-present. Booze helps, but it only goes so far. Luckily, it’s just as easy to look back through modern history for times when society has stepped up and done some amazing things. People helping people, man, that’s what it’s all about. Thanks to a thread on Reddit, here are just a few occurrences of civilizations lifting up their fellow man, instead of beating him down with a pillowcase full of batteries.
