Am I the Asshole is a goldmine for bizarre behavior, but this story in particular manages to stand out.
If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, people go to the subreddit AmItheAsshole to tell their stories and try to gain some perspective on if they’re in the wrong or not. Now, a lot of these stories seem to be posted by clueless narcissists, but this one’s special for being the exact opposite (and has the bonus of being a story of polyamory):
