Yeah, almost all of these are photos that he went over with a brush. These aren't paintings in the "Monet" or "Van Gogh" sense. They are incredibly realistic because they started out as real photos.
Still, great skills. But please, let's not kid ourselves here.

Obviously absurdly impressive work, but I'm with Brad. Realism bores the shit out of me. Even if it border ever so slightly on the surreal, I don't want to look at art that looks real, at all. Completely takes away from art and what I love about being an artist.
Create, don't replicate.
