        • Doofenshmirtz

          • Candace

            IOUSLY

    • myNameIs

Is it just me or is the phrase "man cave" totally gay ?

      • r@f

        its just you… totally gay.

        • loso

its not a man cave. a man cave would be just one container with a fire pit, pool table, a tv with a sat hook up, a recliner, a fridge filled with beer, meat and bread, a bud neon sign and a gas powered generator outside to run the tv, fridge and sign.

      • b-ry

no, you're right. any real man wouldn't need a designated little play-area, or "man-cave".

    • Gutterville

Im sure this a a great cheap way of getting a house in the country side

      • testmemofo

        suck it Boxcar Children

      • LesterFreeman

don't be rude Kevin my Love

By the way – how is this house amazing? Is it amazing just because it was built out of a couple of storage containers? THAT makes it amazing? I thought it was more like a glorified cabin at best.

        • testmemofo

it is amazing because it was built out of the shipping container where Dexter's mom was chainsawed to death

  • davey

    new meaning to trailer park!

    • evan

maybe you meant to say "uno?"

    • chris

You Fucking Fuck-Face. Do you even know what First means? It doesn't mean Fourth, that's for damn sure.

Jesús Said (in a girls voice), "Look at me, I'm first, ooo lala"

Even if you were the first, you'd still be a fuck for saying it.

  • slutifer

ladies and gents this is the future

    • Henrik

People could save a lot of money if they started building some houses like this.

  • Head Chef

Im going to get me one of the for the bottom of the garden!!

  • Jones

… Standard home made of 2 shipping containers and a fuck load of wood! Not really amazing :/

    • dcw

a far cry from "unbelievable", anyway.

    • doom

      completely agree…

  • Tuttified

This is alllllmost as nice as the $3 million loft. 😐

  • Master_Rahl

"Dude, you live in a box" – "Yeah, but it's a fuckin' SWEET box!"

    • doodle

grandma's boy reference? cause if so well played sir.

      • b-ry

that fuckin movie is a hidden gem. hilarious.

      • Master_Rahl

totally was – I could hear Nick Swardson's voice in my head. Had to be done. Like b-ry said, a hidden gem.

  • jimmy

I bet the rednecks at the Brigade will be masturbating to this for years to come.

    • Gaz

      Agreed.

    • Insane Taint

Hmm.. i was thinking the big city folk that pay through the nose for an apartment half this size would be….

    • F.S.M.

I am a military member and I am certainly not a redneck. I have 2 college degrees and I'm also as liberal as they come. How about you not stereotype the very people who fight for your pussy ass every fucking day.

  • Dirty Dingus

    Redneck Win.

  • Nick_FTW

    #36 this is awesome!!

    • hMMMM

      the Taj Malodge. WIN.

  • http://twitter.com/MrChAndy @MrChAndy

    That's creative genius

    • Bananafish

I've actually thought about this before, always figured it would make for a great disaster proof house, and despite other peoples comment about this being a redneck thing, you got it way wrong – rednecks are not capable of doing such creative things

  • @bunkerpunkk

Great use of resources. Can't hate on creativity of that level. Uh…. Git'r Done!!! Haha, couldn't resist.

    • NebraskaGuy

I wholly approve of your comment! 😉

  • Kaars

Amazing?… not so much… but that's a great hunting shack.

    • b-ry

      yea hunt camp at most.

    • GK-4

precisley, the whole time i was thinking, that would make a decent hunting-schack. But i doubt that's the owner's full time home

  • cashmoney

    git er done

  • BloodScrubber

A bright and brilliant idea like this, yet we still have homeless people in the world. Go figure.

    • Larry

My brain hurts, because I fear your comment isn't a joke.

    • Ezee

      Women and minorities hit hardest.

    • Chim Richels

Great. We'll put two of these in your backyard.

Better yet, let's house 10 homeless men in your backyard. We'll make sure to let them use the restroom in your house. We'll make sure your daughter or your mother is around too.

    • amy

actually in Vancouver a guy made shipping containers into housing for the homeless, something like 4 small rooms per container, with bunk beds. It just hasn't caught on yet.

    • wikychick

I thought the same thing. It is more than likely a hell of a lot more economical than a standard house. I would be willing to live in it if I was homeless and had a chance at something better.

  • dougie

seems like a lot of work and money to put into something that is still a shipping container… might be a tough sell, lol

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1464462856 Shane Mackay

Put it on a truck and take it with you , no need to pack.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1528091986 Chris Scharff

Maybe not the most glamorous of lifestyles, but highly attainable for nearly anyone with a job.

    • Tate

Until you take property values into account.

    • Chim Richels

      You are insanely naive.

  • todd

looks great except i'm 6'4" and i think it would be a bit tight for me.

    • specv44

      Height is 7' 4"

      • todd

yeah but the lights and the ceiling fans may prove to be a hindrance

        • specv44

          true, true.

          • Deaners35

They also make tall containers with a height of 9'5" which would make it livable for someone who is 6'4".

            • specv44

              Good call B)

            • nick

40' high cube containers are 9' 6" tall exterior height with an internal height of 8'10". 40' Standard containers are 8'6" tall exterior height with an internal height of 7'6". The containers pictured are both 40' high cube containers.

              • HowBigIsMyBox

Close but wrong. Standard container has a height of 7'5.5" at the opening. They are 7'9.5" internal. High cubes are exactly a foot higher in all measurements. 15+ years and I had to go measure.

    • Ezee

      Thats what she said.

  • http://twitter.com/ADavis41 @ADavis41

These are the new Fanny & Freddie FHA models.

  • j03y

    rednecks are funny

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=507583354 Kendall Scarberry

I would hardly call this guy a redneck. he's using solar panels and a bio toilet. Rednecks would use gas powered generators and out houses.

      • kim

only a redneck would build something as creative as that and then fill it with dead animals, corny antique furniture and hunting themed curtains/accessories.

        • Ezee

Would you feel comfortable make stereotype comments about Jews or black people, if not, why not?

          • shut up

jews are cheap and black people….well they live in the ghetto and crime follows them.

            better?

            • Guest Commenter

              slow clap.

        • Jim

Yeah, a hunting shack with animal mounts an non ultra modern furnishings. Just imagine!

        • http://bella-d.tumblr.com Bella

It looks like a typical cabin in Minnesota. Not always redneck. If anything, this seems to be a second home.

    • my5tika1cll

I would love to know your survival skills. Doubt you could grow your own vegetables, but why not hate on the peeps that do that for you!! Merica, gotta love it!

  • http://kyo9.blogspot.com kyo_9

    solar panel.. nice~

  • NebraskaGuy

#27 I love the idea, but wood paneling???

    • Tate

Yeah because natural wood paneling is so ugly compared to green corrugated steel…… Wait.

      • NebraskaGuy

Tate, now why in the world would you limit yourself to only TWO choices, wood paneling or green corrugated steel?
I was thinking of something a little more up-to-date than 1973 wood paneling.
Use your imagination, I'm sure you can come up with something … 🙂

        • Tate

Like the classy touch only drywall can bring?

          • NebraskaGuy

            Ok whatever

            • Tate

I'm just giving you hard time, guy. You're alright.

              • Bob

Not sure if you think wood paneling and T&G are the same, but it is done in knotty pine T&G according to the blog.

    • Tongystunter

I think it’s tongue and groove. Aka real wood not just some fake paneling.
