    Your doing it right.

    • Pwithc

      You're not.

  • Whoa

Dude needed a specially built board to carry the weight of his balls.

  • Underbaker

Are waves normally that big there and he is just the first to do this or was it luck of the draw that he happened to catch this?

    • Drew

Waves do get this big. But, the fact that if you fall, you probably die discourages people from riding them. He got him and his giant balls towed in by a jet ski and off he went. Unreal.

    • wayfarer

In Nazaré, Portugal, there is something that could be translated as canon of Nazaré, a geological gap deep in the sea, that creates these huge waves.

      • jim

A gap most people need to mind!

        • JDB

          Very good sir.

      • Brunodg

I'm from Portugal and I didn't know that there were this kind of waves in Nazaré.. that wave was clearly a combination of factors, (I'm not saying it's not the underground canyon, but it has to be more than that) and if you see the rest of the waves he tried to surf, they are not that big.

Please. Wuss needed a life jacket. A real man would have nothing but his shorts and a beer in one hand.

  • SamIAm84

Not taking any credit away from him… But how do they know it's a 90 foot wave?

    • haha

some one was measuring it off camera with a ruler

      • jones

        90 rulers*

    • Johnny Two Toes

Impressive, but doesn't look like 90 feet. 50 maybe.

    • SweetAwesomeness

I know right?!?!!? that wave easily looks about 89 feet.

      • rambocorn

There's equipment that can measure the distance and the height of an object pretty easily, I'd imagine surfing enthusiasts have their ways.

  • HUH?

hamilton has been doing this for years.

    • wedgie

yes on smaller than 90ft waves

"If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love." – Bodhi

as a quasi-surfer, that shit is crazy.

    • https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1064188593 Josh Gorter

Laird Hamilton is one of the most bad ass people on this earth.

      • thrillho

That entire film is so awesome ("Riding Giants"). Stacy Peralta knows how to tell a good story.

    • Ross

If we're talking about chopes then look no further than Ian Walsh in 2009. Most ridiculous ride at that spot ever. However, this was a serious ride that should be fully respected.

    • wedgie

      maybe the "thickest" wave ever…

    • Brunodg

      This wave is just beautiful…
