  • Pants

I remember when music took effort to create.

    • kw1q51lv3r

To be fair, electronic dance music is really hard to do from scratch.

    • Adam_R

Coming from someone who plays both "standard" instruments (guitar, piano, violin, drums, etc) AND also creates music digitally — I can tell you that the above song took WEEKS to create, record, sample, tweak, rewrite, and produce.

      • falaf lol

If you played standard instrumients then you would understand that to create music using them takes years…. createing digital music takes only a basic understanding of music theaory and some expensive equipment

        • Adam_R

While it is true that SOME music takes years (Beethoven's 5th took approximately 5 years of on and off work, for example), most songs written using standard instruments don't take years. So I'm not sure where you got that from.

And sure, there are some people out there that are just idiots with a midi-keyboard who know how to play a C-Chord. But there are a good deal of digital artists (Daft Punk comes to the forefront of my mind), that spend a GREAT DEAL of time on their music.

The point I'm trying to make here is that making good music takes effort regardless of whether it is digitally generated, played with "real" instruments, or a combination of both. Calling one or the other "effortless" is just ignorant.

  • Da Sandman

perfect example of having way to much free time

  • Jon

ugh dubstep is terribad. Any fan of real EDM will tell you that in a heart beat

    • kw1q51lv3r

Well I think this is nice alternative to all that prog death metal stuff I normally listen to. Makes me think of all the synth filters envelope modifiers they gotta sequence.

    • Matt

Some of the dubstep that came about when the style was born was awesome. This here is not. We call this Brostep.

    • anonymous

The word terribad is god awful. Go read a book.

  • kw1q51lv3r

Heh. Was just listening to the exact same song as I chanced across this.

  • Auz_E

I tried watching this muted at first, I feel sorry for deaf people even more so now.
