    i feel bad I never new that he died…… =( R.I.P.

    • MylesofStyles

Naturally, this means you feel good you never old that he died.

      • BabyMistakes

One of the deductive reasoning questions from the S.A.T.

  • Mr.Eff

Bob Ross is a punchline to a lot of people, and that's unfortunate. To anyone who ever watched his show, watching him do what he did was an amazing experience. He influenced me to give a go at different mediums in art, and it ended up being one of the most enjoyable pastimes in my life. Thank you Bob Ross.

    • grumpy

Yeah, he wasn't considered a great artist by the art community, but that isn't the only measure of who he was. He was kind, he was positive, and he seemed to really want other people to be happy. So his art was a bit cheesy–his life was made of good qualities. Respect.

      • Mart

I Agree with you 100% grumpy. He was a very good human being.

      • Jonathan

I love his paintings. Do those artist whose paintings make no sense whatsoever but are "Artistic" look down on Bob Ross? Those guys can go to hell. If I cannot clearly make out what the painting is, then why the hell would I want to look at it? Ross is an awesome painter to me.

        • Abstraction

Not all artists look down on Bob Ross. Many of us feel that what he did was a service to the art community because it introduced so many people to art in general and oil painting in particular. In fact, I'm an artist today because of him. I paint abstract, true, but Bob Ross is always in the back of my head with his "no mistakes, only happy little accidents." A lot of the artists from my generation owe him for inspiring our interest.

As for 'atists' who DO look down on him. . .that's jealousy at work. Seriously. You say the name "Bob Ross" and it's pretty close to a sure bet that someone who hears you will grin and say "Happy little tree guy!" or something similar. He inspired people, he made people feel good, and he was *famous* in a way most contemporary artists can only dream of. That's their problem. His name is iconic, while their names get shrugs and 'who the hell is that?'

I've heard some people say things like "he's no Matisse." No shit. He's Bob Ross. And I promise you, a majority of people who read this will know who HE is and will have to run off to Google to figure out who Matisse is.

  • Bob Ross fan

I used to sit with my aging father and watch Bob Ross's show. Good times man, good times.

  • Moon

I'd like to put that song on my ipod

    • autotuneistrashy

I love Bob Ross, but you can eat a dick if you think autotune is music…

Copy the youtube address, go to( http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ ), past it and click convert video. When its done hit download and it will go to your down loaded file folder. It takes like 3 seconds.

  • cookit

He was such a nice guy, they still play his series in German TV, usually really late, it is a shame, This would be great for the kids…..

  • RomRom

Several years ago, my son used to watch Bob Ross– when he was just a little boy. He'd get out his water colors and paint along. My boy just graduated with a BFA, and it started with Bob Ross. RIP Bob.

  • ripbobross

The use of autotune insults the true creativity of Bob Ross… Whoever took the easy way out and "made" notes to this song via autotune doesn't appreciate true art and creativity. Fuck off, whoever created this.. You are not an artist, and you should feel ashamed. Fucking terrible.

You know when you have a bad attitude sit back and think, WWBRD – what would bob ross do?

    • FrankyM

This, and the stuff that Symphony of Science make, is less about creating 'art' in and of its own, but of tangentially reminding people of great people, great show and great ideas that have come before. If it wasn't for a Symphony of Science track I heard a few years ago, I wouldn't have discovered Carl Sagan's Cosmos, which is by far one of the most interesting, thought-provoking, inspiring and, even in today's time, relevant shows I've ever seen.

I agree, auto-tuning is not music. It's turning talking into singing by a lazy piece of technology. But using it like this, when it people who are featured in the song are no longer around, and using the shows as the message behind the tune, is possibly the best use for auto-tune I can think of.

    • Fuck you

You should have a happy little tree shoved up your happy little ass.

      • Katie

        I think it's already there

My kids love bob Ross. They still show repeats on PBS around here…..

    • twd22285

Same here! Love that pbs still airs his shows. My kids love it..so do i

  • Jared

His work might not be regarded highly in the " art" community, but if yu look at some of the shit they produce and call art its mind boggling.

At least Bob Ross, made the effort to share his passion, and teach with a good message in an honest and kind delivery. Cant say that for some of these pretentious art snobs with their heads lodged firmly up their asses.

    • Jon

Bob Ross is what got me started in art. The "art" community is what turned me away. Well said, Jared. Art is not exactly what ends up on the canvas but the thought and emotion behind it.

  • Rick

That just put me in a good mood… Happy Friday Chivers!

  • fresh.ta.death

Bob Fucking Ross. That is all. RIP.

this makes me feel like I am soaring over rainbows, while riding on the back of a majestic unicorn and dropping chocolate covered kisses on the masses!

  • illWill

Bob Ross doesn't need to be songified. His reassuring, calm voice is music enough.

  • Amber

I was having a serious personal crisis a few years ago. M boyfriend cheated on me, I couldn't find work after college, I was seriously depressed. Someone had Bob Ross on you stream. I would watch him for hours non-stop. He was a truly lovely man and I think helped save my life. God Bless you Bob Ross. I mean it.

  • twd22285

How cool is this cat!? Easily the most soothing voice and demeanor ever heard on air! You could be the biggest prick in the world and still find it really hard not to like this guy! I always found his shows to be like that old classic movie on TNT or AMC (shawshank, tombstone, young guns) that once you see it you gotta watch the rest of it even though you have seen it a thousand times. Bob Ross is the man!

  • jay dee

Bob Ross, you were, and still continue to be, a great inspiration for a great many of us. Happy little clouds are the reason I picked up a paintbrush to begin with. Great tribute.

  • CarzyB

That was SUCH a great show. I totally watched him paint.

  • JoeyW311

Such a positive, happy person. We need more people like him in this world! KCCO
