Fulks stresses that “The X-Plan” only works if no judgement is passed and no questions are asked. The conversation about what happened is entirely up to whoever initiated the text.
“This can be a hard thing for some parents (admit it, some of us are complete control freaks); but I promise it might not save them, but it will go a long way in building trust between you and your kid.”
He also said that the plan has really improved his relationship with his son.
“This is one of the most loving things we’ve ever given him, and it offers him a sense of security and confidence in a world that tends to beat our young people into submission.”
People learning about his plan are loving and embracing it, and Fulks hopes that this early encouragement of children to reach out to their parents can prevent bigger problems later in life.
