Halloween is big business, coming in second place only behind Christmas sales every year. And Halloween candy is a massive part of that money-making machine, netting over $2.5 billion in the U.S. sales each year! There are many staples on the most popular list that will likely come as no surprise, but a few might just catch you off guard. One common theme among the candy is chocolate. The top 5 most popular candies all have some chocolate included in them, and over 72% of all Halloween candy purchased will include chocolate as a primary ingredient.
The fine folks over at The Daily Meal compiled a list of the most popular 25 Halloween candies sold in the states based on a few criteria: annual sales statistics, rankings of favorite candies by state, cross-referenced with results with from websites such as Fox News, Bloomberg, and USAToday.
