Have you ever been so excited to go on a trip and see something astounding and full of wonder, only to be disappointed? Happens all the time when I travel. Either a monument is too crowded, too expensive or it’s been overhyped, and you get the feeling that you should have saved your time and money and seen something else. Plus I hate large crowds full of selfie-ing tourists and and aggressive vendors. That was my first and last experience at Times Square.
These locations here, have been repeatedly flagged as places that are overhyped by visitors and travellers. For some, they just thought it’d be more ‘interesting’ and weren’t thrilled with a plaque that said “something happened here once.” For others, it just wasn’t all they hoped for.
Either way, just be mindful when you travel. Some things are greater in theory, then in reality.
