The tomb of King Tutankhamen, who ruled Egypt from 1332-1323 BC, was discovered nearly intact in 1922. The extremely rare find made headlines across the world and King Tut became the symbol of ancient Egypt. But it wasn’t until now, almost 100 years after uncovering his mummy, that we learned what the pharaoh actually looked like (warning: it ain’t pretty).
