It might only take 11 days straight to die
There’s no official scientific answer to how long someone can go without sleep, but scientists know that you can last up to eleven days before things get critical. That Chinese soccer fan that I mentioned earlier lasted 11 days before passing.
On the other hand, there was a high school student in the 60’s, who tried to stay awake as long as he could for a science project. He too, lasted 11 days before succumbing to sleep. But he didn’t die, nor have any long term health problems.
But given that the number of deaths due to sleep deprivation are still pretty high, I’d suggest getting as much sleep as you can get. Because one way or another, insomnia is going to take it’s pound of flesh, given the chance.
