There’s a group of guys out there (myself included) that can count on their greatest bro relationships remaining eternally strong, due to a video game. But not just any video game, but the multiplayer game to end all multiplayer games. The one with the Golden Gun, the “Facility” level and the ultimate death-match “Slappers Only” mode where you only can slap each other instead of using weapons. Yep, I’m talking about GoldenEye 007 on the N64.
That’s the game that cemented friendships, made enemies and made every high school party legendary. But you’d be surprised to learn that we almost didn’t have that epic opportunity to play multiplayer at all. It was a fluke.
