As far as bucket list items go, you should really add a music festival to your plans. There’s nothing like the experience of an open air concert, the dirt and grime, the camping, the lines, and the camaraderie of making friends with people you just met and bonding over your mutual love of the line-up. As a younger man, I enjoyed my share of festivals, and wish that I still had it in me to go to one. But alas, I’m getting old and enjoy being clean, asleep, and unmolested by woodland creatures and drunk revellers. But I digress.
Each festival has it’s own unique vibe and crowds that they attract, and everyone will tell you facts and rumours about which festival is the greatest. But are all the rumours and stereotypes true? The folks over at cloudcover Music, wanted to know that exact question, so they surveyed over 665 festival goers about their experiences, their favourites and exactly happens at a music festival.
