When it comes to developing video games, nothing is certain. You can have a great idea, but get stuck in the development of it, run out of money, get told your idea is too controversial, have resources taken away in favour of a different game, or get told that a new generation is coming out and it’s not worth the effort to rework your title. If you’re lucky, you learn all this before you’re too deep into it and can walk away.
There are a few cases, however, where a game’s been finished and is set to to change the landscape, only to get told that it won’t see the light of day. In some cases, developers find a way to secretly release it online, but in most cases, the games are dead and buried.
It sucks, because these games would have been monsters.
