If you are a baseball fan, or just keep up to date on sports news, you have most likely already seen the crazy ending of the Dodgers/Rays Game 4 match-up that took place on Saturday.
Here is a little recap if you haven’t. The Rays were trailing the Dodgers by 1 run and were down to their final strike in the bottom of the 9th. Brett Phillips, who hadn’t recorded a hit since September 25th, laced a single into right-center field to score the tying run from second. Dodger’s Chris Taylor booted the ball for an error and opened the door for Randy Arozarena to score the game-winning run. Arozarena tripped as he rounded third and was dead to rights to send the game into extra innings but Dodger’s catcher Will Smith misplayed the ball at home plate, allowing Arozarena to get back to his feet and score safely to end the game and tie the series at 2-2.
It seems like it is almost common practice at this point for a World Series game to end in a crazy fashion. Here are some of the wildest endings that we have seen in the World Series in the last 30 years.
