Comic book readers and historians have come up with four main ages for comics. This was determined by the characters, plot lines, drawings, and size of the comic books. The four eras are the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and the Modern Age. Looking around there is varied thinking on when each age started. My source for this top 10 has the Modern Age of comics set from 1992 to the present.
