“Barbarian” Film Review: Mandatory viewing for horror fans of all stripes (9 GIFs)

To be totally blunt, I was not impressed with the trailer for Barbarian.

I thought the trailer had some creepy atmosphere to it, but it felt like something was missing. Everything was so vaguely drawn about this movie’s entire premise that I wasn’t even sure what the movie was about. Was this a film that was hiding a lot of its premise because it wasn’t confident in its own ideas? Or were there surprises worth preserving in Barbarian?

Nonetheless, I’m a horror movie fan at heart, and after hearing some surprisingly strong word of mouth about the film, I saw it last night.

And now, I understand why the trailer was vague.
