John and I were sitting around the campfire the other night, a.k.a. huddled around a computer screen sipping beer, and I mentioned how brilliant the comments section has gotten these days. As the new “Top Comment Curator,” I’m witnessing written gold on a daily basis. And from there we began skimming through some of my favorites from the past week when John noticed that some of our heavy-hitters have this game absolutely clocked. Now there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a hardcore Chiver owning the comments, and honestly we hope you guys continue to dominate, but we got to thinking maybe some fresh blood would be a fun change of pace. We know there are some of you out there holding out on us, and we want to see what the quiet masses have to say.
Ten minutes and 3-4 bad ideas later, we settled on sweetening the pot for “First Time Commenters”. And it’s really simple, from this moment on for the next 3 days (ending at midnight on Friday) ANY Chiver who has never commented before, or who hasn’t commented in over a year can leave their most funny/witty comments within ANY post with the hashtag “#FTC” at the start or end of the statement to be filtered by yours truly into a preliminary pool. After I verify that it is, in fact, your FTC we will then turn the best comments over to you guys to crown a lone champion next week. Top prize will take down $1000 for themselves and we’ll match that same amount to be sent directly to Chive Charities!
Will it be pandemonium? Absolutely. But out of all this chaos will come some real good that only helps brave souls who are due a little lucky break. And if you are thinking to yourself, “I could just add “#FTC” to every comment to game the system, whether it’s my first time or my millionth,” you’re right! You can do just that, and we can’t stop you. Hell, we won’t even try because in the end EVERYBODY WINS. The important thing is that we’re all just having some fun out there. Isn’t that all that matters in life?
I digress. If you’ve never commented before, or haven’t posted something in the past year, we want to see your best attempts at bringing down the house in the comments section in any and ALL galleries. Be advised, as long as you haven’t commented before now you will be qualified for EVERY brilliant comment made over the next 3 days. So don’t worry about saving up for the perfect post to comment on. We will count every new commenters’ amusing comments until Midnight this Friday, from ALL galleries.
Last note, for you regular commenting Chivers, this game’s prize doesn’t include you, but A) that doesn’t mean you can’t have plenty of fun with this, and B) your turn to be rewarded for all your shinest comments will come soon too!
